William (Liam) Colbert was on the first Cork team to bring an all Ireland football title to Leeside in 1890.

The event was to commemorate both Ted Downey who won All Ireland medals with Cork (1890) and Dublin (1897) and Donal's great grandfather William Colbert.

A wreath was laid by the President of the GAA, Liam McCarthy, and members of Midleton GAA.
