Just a quick note of thanks for the continued support that the club has given us for the Naomh Ólaf Social Hurling Easter Saturday Blitz. It is appreciated by everyone in the group.

The day went well, though the weather was the true winner on the field, with the teams only getting to play 2 or 3 games each before the downpours including a hail storm, won.

It didn't dampen the spirits though and Paul Lyons did great work to support the earlier than expected invasion of Social Hurlers into the bar.

Oisin Langan (ex OffTheBall and current freelance sports writer) turned out for Kilmacud Crokes and Richie Power togged out for Cabinteely with his 8 All Ireland's for Kilkenny tucked under the helmet.

Chairperson John Somers spoke to the gathered teams in the sports hall just after registration; Shane Stapleton graciously gave his time to entertain with a Q&A in the bar after the games and; Collette Coady, who has the remit of 'Social Games Coordinator' at Croke Park, was also in attendance and spoke a few words to the gathered groups. As an event it was great for the Social Hurling Group, to see such support.

Looking forward to next year already (Saturday April 19th).

Yours,

Sean,
For and on behalf of the Naomh Ólaf Social Hurling Group

ps We're back down at the club (from tonight, 19th April) if anyone wants to come along and give it a go.
