Easter Saturday Blitz

Naomh Ólaf's Social Hurling Easter Saturday Blitz is coming around again, with up to 24 teams from Belfast, Wexford, Kilkenny, Kildare and Dublin being hosted by the Naomh Ólaf club group on Saturday March 30th.

This is now the third year of the event and it's beginning to feel like it's a proper event in the sporting calendar as well as the club calendar. Anyone wishing to volunteer a little time with us, it would be greatly appreciated. Email naomholafsocialhurling@gmail.com

Registration starts around 10:30am, throw in will be around 12:30pm finishing around 4pm. Entertainment in the clubhouse until around 8pm.

Prizes

We have secured some fantastic support for the event again with team prizes from Mycro Helmets, Torpey hurls, O'Meara sliotars, retail vouchers from McKeever Sports & AllSportStore.com, Subscription vouchers from OffTheBall & ClubberTV - throw in team gifts from GetFreshSuperFoods, SuperValu Balally and matchday O'Meara sliotars provided to us by Premier Sports. It will be a fantastic day of Social Hurling for all the teams and individuals.

Fundraising

All members and families are welcome to come along and join in with the craic. We will also be hosting Laura Lynn, Ireland's Children's Hospice with a bit of a fundraising drive. We have secured a few prizes from Dalata Hotels that we have given to Laura Lynn, who will be raffling them off on the day.

Curious

The Social Hurling Group are always looking for new additions to the group, so if you have an inkling that you might be interested or curious in hurling, come along and join in. All skill levels are welcome from complete beginners to ex-county. All fitness levels are welcome. Friday night's 8pm. Check out on the club website for our stories and information. Adult club membership is not required, we try to make joining in as easy as possible.

One of the best years to date

Over the last year, the group have participated in numerous blitz's around the country from Belfast to Tipperary.  We had great craic winning the inaugural Social Hurling League organised by the Cuala group.  We've appeared in Croke Park as a promotional tool for Social Hurling nationwide. Our group has featured in Dublin Gazette, the Independent and other news/sports sites. We've welcomed new members to our group, from the club, from the local community and from wider afield. All with different hurling experiences from none to skilled.
